Danza's current work is a posthumous collaboration with her father, Robert Chisholm, who passed away in 2018. After retiring from practicing medicine, Robert studied math for the joy of learning and from this study transformed geometric patterns into acrylic paintings and mixed media art. He lived a secluded, rural life surrounded by nature and always spoke of his work in terms of beauty that surrounded him. Danza’s work combines her father’s patterns with subjects from nature. She draws on her experience as a mural artist by working with a controlled pallete–between 9 and 15 pre-mixed colors–applied with rigorous precision. The results are 4 ft. by 4 ft. acrylic paintings on canvas that simultaneously evoke the child-like experience of looking through a kaleidoscope and the primal, awesome beauty that can be found in nature.
